Abbiamo scelto il nome Mesmerize per evocare quella sensazione rara che non si forza — si incontra. Le bolle di sapone non sono una decorazione: sono uno strumento di estraniamento, un modo per rompere la routine e portare l'utente in uno spazio mentale diverso, più leggero, più presente. We chose the name Mesmerize to evoke that rare feeling you can't force — you encounter it. The soap bubbles are not decoration: they are a tool for estrangement, a way to break the routine and bring the user into a different mental space, lighter, more present.

La ri-contestualizzazione di un oggetto d'infanzia in un contesto adulto crea un cortocircuito emotivo positivo: l'abitudine si forma più facilmente quando il gesto è associato a qualcosa di piacevole. The recontextualization of a childhood object in an adult context creates a positive emotional short-circuit: habits form more easily when the gesture is associated with something pleasurable.

Mesmerize è stato sviluppato attraverso due cicli di test con utenti reali. Ogni scelta — le bolle, il ginepro, il suono della notifica, il rifiuto con un tocco — è nata dal confronto con chi lo ha usato davvero. Mesmerize was developed through two cycles of testing with real users. Every choice — the bubbles, the juniper, the notification sound, the dismiss-with-a-touch — emerged from dialogue with people who actually used it.

La decisione finale di separare il dispositivo in due parti nasce proprio dagli utenti: molti preferivano poter scegliere dove fare l'esercizio, indipendentemente da dove ricevevano la notifica. The final decision to separate the device into two parts came directly from users: many preferred to choose where to do the exercise, independently of where they received the notification.

Il risultato è un oggetto che funziona perché risponde alle persone, non solo a un'idea. The result is an object that works because it responds to people, not just to an idea.
